YMCA Half Marathon

Club Running sprinted their way into several wins over the weekend. The team drove up to Peabody, MA this past Saturday to wrap up their fall season at the LiveSTRONG at the Y Half Marathon. They had more than 30 Husky runners take to the course, many of them setting personal best times! Luke Janik led the way for Northeastern, finishing first overall and setting a new club record with his time of 1:09:21. Unfortunately, the next set of runners were sent the wrong way on the course, but even though they ran an extra ¾ of a mile, they still dominated the competition. Brendan Hehir finished third overall with a time of 1:18:37 and he was followed closely by Vinny Castronuovo who clinched the win in his age group with a time of 1:18:51. The men swept the 14-19 age group awards and came close to doing the same in the 20-29 division as well. Leading the way for the women was Caroline Evans, whose personal record time of 1:31:33 made her the third overall female finisher. The rest of the women had a good day as well, also sweeping the 14-19 age group awards and claiming first in the 20-29 division. All in all, it was an amazing finish to a successful season!
