FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
The Northeastern University club baseball team is a competitive, intercollegiate program that is part of the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) competing at the Division 1 level. Our team is consistently recognized as one of the top programs in the northeast, and was the winner of the 2010 Division II NCBA National Championship. The regular season consists of 25 games against schools such as Boston College, UMass Amherst, UConn, and others. We also get to participate in Spring Training in Tampa, FL during spring break.
Tryouts are held twice a year. Tryouts will be offered during the fall around the second week of September as well as the third week of January for the Spring semester. There will usually be 1-2 scheduled tryouts depending on the number of players trying out. Tryouts will be run very similar to a college showcase style workout. Infielders will take ground balls from short so we can see your fielding ability and arm strength. Outfielders will take fly balls from right field to see your arm strength. Pitchers will be throwing short bullpens. Catchers will be catching bullpens as well as throwing to each base on the diamond. And obviously hitting as well.
