MRI Atlases

An essential part of MRI brain data analysis is segmentation of scans in different region of interest (ROIs). Most commonly used atlases are prepared using stained histology slices. The apparent issue with histology slices is a non-linear shrinkage of brain in all directions due to freezing/fixing involved in preparation of slices. Templates created from these slices seldom fit MRI/CT/SPECT data correctly.  To this end, 3D, segmented, annotated atlas for following species were developed from high-resolution anatomical MRI images of live animal which has perfect structural fidelity and integrity.
