Adam Alper Wins Outstanding Research Award for Engineering and Technology at Northeastern’s RISE 2020 Competition

The Outstanding Research Award for Engineering and Technology was awarded to Undergraduate student Adam Alper for his entry into the RISE 2020 competition.

Over the course of four months, Adam designed and created a research tool, named the “Magnetic Tweezer” to make it easier to work with magnetic microwires, a material currently being researched by the Nanomagnetism Research Group. Adam used his proficiency in SolidWorks to model his design, and utilized 3D printing to manufacture many of the parts for the research tool.

Adam entered and presented his research tool in Northeastern’s RISE competition, a platform for undergraduate and graduate students to share their current research.  The “Magnetic Tweezer” presentation was entered into the competition under the category of Engineering and Technology, which had around 70 other entrants.
