YDIP requires full day Saturday programming twice per month, for students and parents.

The Saturday program includes supplemental classes in English and Math; in which the YDIP staff designs and aligns the curricula for the classes, based on The Boston Public Schools Office of Curriculum and Instruction Guide. Additionally, a Life Skills class is taught in order to accomplish the ‘soft skills’ development aspect of the program, which includes: conversations on decision making and consequences (rationale), discussions on how to deal with peer pressure, grit, and resilience, how students can impact a positive change in their community.

The Saturday program also allows us to take trips to visit colleges and universities in or outside Boston, attend cultural events on or off campus, and go on FUN field trips to reward the YDIP students for working hard in the classroom.
