Welcome to the 2nd International Workshop on Automated Data Collection Systems

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the 2nd International Workshop on Automated Data Collection Systems: A New Foundation for Urban Public Transport Planning and Operations will be held at Northeastern University in Boston, August 8-9, 2016.

The use of data from automated, opportunistic and dedicated sensors (e.g. AFC, AVL, APC, etc.) has increased in recent years. Following the 1st International Workshop on Utilizing Transit Smart Card Data for Service Planning, held in Gifu, Japan, in 2014, the second workshop will focus on bringing together researchers and practitioners to discuss recent methodological developments and innovative applications in various topics.

The workshop will provide the opportunity to expand the network of researchers and practitioners established with the 1st workshop and continue the on-going discussion to advance the use of data from automated sources as a foundation for analysis and management of transit systems.

Important Dates:

– Extended Abstract Submission (2 pages): March 30, 2016

– Extended Acceptance Notification: May 15, 2016

– Extended Early Bird Registration: June 21

The Organizing Committee is finalizing the logistics of the meeting, including registration, accommodations, abstract submission and social events. So, please check back soon for updates, plan your trip to Boston, and spread the word about TransitData2016.

See you in Boston in August 2016!
