Course: PPUA 6506 Techniques of Policy Analysis
During the Spring 2022 semester, graduate students of public policy teamed up with Andy Goldberg, director of the Asian American Civic Association (AACA), to complete policy analysis for the non-profit. Our team specifically studied discrimination and negative public attitudes within the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and focused our policy analysis recommendations to attempt to ameliorate relationships between the AAPI community and others within the Greater Boston Area. Through our research, we found that COVID-19 exacerbated negative public attitudes towards AAPI individuals and proposed solutions that included strengthening the relationship between Northeastern and the AACA; through the strengthening of this partnership, we believe that the Greater Boston area could become a more inclusive place for the community. Our presentation, which was recorded via Zoom, outlined our five policy options to address social change and promoted diplomacy amongst stakeholders and political groups
