Creators: The Students of Professor McElligott Inquiries in Biological Sciences
Course: Inquiries in Biological Sciences (McElligott)
Abstract: This is a summary of all the partnerships and the students work in Dr. McElligott’s BIOL2299 Service-Learning section. Each group’s work is highlighted, along with a brief synopsis of their initiatives. Though every group went about it in a different way, the main aim was to share the knowledge they learned in the classroom as biology major, within the community. Most groups dealt with younger children, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of scientists. A few groups, looked to educate underrepresented groups with many challenges stacked against them about their own personal health literacy.
