Abstract: The purpose of this project is to assist Massachusetts Promise Fellowship (MPF) in marketing their current fellows to the public in order to drive future recruitment for the program. The data we are leveraging to create this data visualization comes in the form of surveys that each of the current fellows have answered. This data highlights their educational background, home residence, racial background, age, and prior experience. We are hoping to create an interactive visualization that will catch the eye of the public and potential applicants, as well as provide valuable insights for MPF’s internal use. As MPF voiced interest in highlighting the diverse backgrounds of the fellows, we determined that diversity should be exemplified in our preliminary exploration. The racial backgrounds of the fellows are largely diverse, as well as their educational backgrounds and even where they are applying from. At the end of the project, we effectively advertised MPF’s fellows to the public and other potential stakeholders.
