In our Engineering Project Management class, we worked with a community partner, the Senior Citizen Housing Corporation of Boston, to help them communicate with the senior citizens of Charlestown. We were able to do this by developing a project, where we researched a target population, developed a strategy for our community partner, and executed on said strategy. We developed a Microsoft Access database from public voter registration information, and developed flyers and postcards so that we could gather email addresses in order to help our community partner communicate with their target population. This would allow our community partner to have clearer lines of communication with the senior citizens, ultimately ensuring that the services and resources provided are available to the senior citizens living in Charlestown.
