Boston is a very diverse city with 20% of its immigrant population forming part of the Latino community. One of the most notable communities is located in Jamaica Plain where BalletRox is also located. BalletRox is a dance studio that aims towards empowering youth through dance education. Not only did BalletRox taught us the diversity of Boston, but also tasked us with promoting inclusion by making their website accessible to non-native English speakers, specifically the Latino community since many children in Boston Public Schools, where BalletRox has created after school programs for their children, are not fluent in English. The purpose of this project is to provide BalletRox with an extended research on zero-cost website translation services and advise them on the best option. Using the four phases of project development, the team has created opportunities to not only translate the website to Spanish, but also to many languages around the world while adding a Spanish summary, calendar edits of important events, and making sure changes could be made in the future if needed.
