This infographic represents our group’s service at the Boys and Girls Club Boston. It is a description of our learning through this community service group.

The Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit organization that runs an after school program. This organization has students from 1st to 8th grade staying after school doing homework, and other activities. This group works for the overall development of students. There are many volunteers in this school who successfully participate in helping the students. We had an opportunity to work at this organization through Northeastern. -Palak Tyagi

As a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club, I had a heartwarming experience with the children and the whole atmosphere in that place. The kids and their families were so lovely, that it was hard to not get attached. I enjoyed helping these children with their homework, playing games, and even helping the parents learn English. I would recommend this place for other Service-Learning students. – Gabriela Silverio

Volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club was an exceptional experience because you learn to understand the importance of the support that you give to those kids. It is not just the kids that you impact, but everybody around them today, and in the future, when they become leaders. As a volunteer, I helped the children to develop their abilities and creativity so they could become confident leaders in the future. – Luis Garate Marquez

Being a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club not only can help children’s development, but also the volunteer can learn from the experience. As a volunteer, I helped students to achieve their academic success and played board games with them. After tutoring process, I am more patient. Moreover, I learned that communication skills are important while explaining questions. I learned to ask details before I explain, rather than assuming. I can apply this learning in school or at work. – Chia-Hsin Nien
