Big Idea Challenge

Team Lead: Andris Zonies – zonies.a@husky.neu.edu

The Northeastern Big Idea team is a team of a dozen undergraduates competing in NASA’s Big Idea Challenge. The challenge asked teams to come up with a unique concept to aid in exploration of the permanently shadowed regions (PSRs) at the moon’s south pole. To this end, the team is designing, fabricating, and testing SCOUT, a 4-legged prototype lunar rover. The rover is designed as a platform for sensing equipment, and is intended to be the first rover to explore a PSR.
