By Jieru Xu and Yumeng Ren

Today, with the widespread accessibility of internet and multimedia, porn is no longer taboo.

Nearly 30,000 users watch pornography on the internet worldwide, spending $3,075 — every second. What’s more, 25% of all search engine queries are related to pornography. That’s about 68 million search queries a day. And 35% of all internet downloads are related to pornography, according to Webroot.

The United States is the biggest porn producing country, with a new pornography video  being created every 39 minutes, according to Deseret News. About 40 million American people regularly visit porn sites. About 200,000 Americans are “porn addicts”, recorded by “Insight Women Need”.

Given the large number of clicks and viewers, it’s not difficult to imagine that the porn industry is the biggest and most profitable industry in the world. The adult film industry alone makes more money than the MLB and NBA combined. To compare: major Hollywood movies make an average of $8.8 billion annually, while adult movies take in $13 billion.

We dug up some interesting facts about online porn industry on Pornhub, which Wikipedia claims is the largest pornographic video sharing website. This is what we found:
