Sparse Representation/Reconstruction of Plantar Pressure Image

The foot complications constitute a tremendous challenge for diabetic patients, caregivers, and the healthcare system. The proposed sparse representation/reconstruction system can: (1) Reconstruct the pressure image of foot using a personalized plantar pressure model; (2) Collect pressure data continuously with a low-power data acquisition system and wirelessly transmits it; (3) Use the smart phone to run risk assessment analytics to provide instant feedback to the patient; (3) Enable healthcare providers to run a comprehensive analysis tool on the long-term collected data on the base-station to make a better treatment advice and plan for each patient.
