Energy efficiency for the masses! Massachusetts is a national leader for its energy efficiency efforts and a significant reason for that is the utility ratepayer funded Mass Save Program. We will discuss how the Mass Save Program works at a high level and dig a little deeper into what it means to be a contractor in the program. We’ll go over what a residential energy assessment looks like in practice, as well as the resulting weatherization retrofit work.

Matt is the Operations Manager for Revise Energy, a Home Performance Contractor participating in the Mass Save Program. After graduating with an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University, Matt worked briefly in the planning world before falling into residential energy efficiency. After starting as a Residential Energy Advisor at a company called Next Step Living in 2012, he went into management and eventually helped establish Revise Energy in 2016. Matt is the longest tenured employee at the company, having helped grow it from 3 to nearly 100 employees in the last 5 years, and to become the second largest contractor in the Mass Save Program.

Matt enjoys eating ice cream, drinking tasty beers, being outside, playing with his two young daughters, and the seemingly never-ending process of building — and someday actually finishing — his own (very efficient!) home.
