ABSTRACT:

By their very nature, sustainability efforts within the built environment bring together diverse teams to tackle big issues. As the industry continues to focus on integrated solutions, career opportunities abound to make a contribution but how do you find a seat at the table? Who has the best seat? Utilizing examples from commissioning projects, learn about project team members roles in the industry. From past career experiences, learn a few tips and pointers on where to look for opportunities to get started on a career path.

BIO:

Brad Jones, a principal at Cadmus, has over 25 years of experience in leading teams to optimize facility operations. Mr. Jones focuses on working collaboratively with facility staff and project teams to improve energy and building performance in existing buildings, new construction projects, and renovation projects. His experience includes energy master planning, energy auditing, retrocommissioning, commissioning, and LEED consulting. His project roles have spanned program and project management to technical execution. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University, has served on the USGBC LEED Energy & Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group, currently serves on the USGBC Education Events Committee, and currently serves as the President of the Northeast Chapter of the Building Commissioning Association.
