ABSTRACT:

What is a well-rounded approach to sustainability? By incorporating elements that go beyond sustainable building elements, the triple bottom line inspires sustainable methodologies like the Living Building Challenge (LBC) that build upon LEED, reaching beyond.

BIOS:
DiAnn Mroszczak AIA, LEED AP BD+C - Sustainable Leader

DiAnn has a passion for sustainable, well-integrated, place-based design. During her career, she has worked on a variety of assignments from prototype retail to mixed-use housing to private residences, as well as passive systems research for the super-insulated Pratt House in Dudley Square. DiAnn strives to create high-performing structures with an emphasis on habitable, scale-appropriate spaces that contribute to the character of their community. She believes that it is the problem solving necessary to make a project real – be it environmental, contextual or use-related – that can elevate the design and elicit innovation.
With a B.Arch from the University of Kansas, DiAnn currently serves as a Co-Facilitator for the local ILFI Living Building Challenge Collaborative. In the past she led the USGBC’s Emerging Professional Group, serving as a leading member of the Planning Committee and a Co-Chair for the annual design competition for young local professionals.
