ABSTRACT:

While the benefits of green infrastructure are becoming widely accepted, communities often encounter challenges – like public support, funding, and maintenance – that limit widespread implementation.  The Town of Milton is overcoming these challenges and bringing projects from planning to construction. This presentation will detail our community’s process of successfully planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining green infrastructure. Additionally, we will share lessons learned in overcoming challenges like site constraints, public education, and funding from the recent projects.
