Recently named as one of the country’s most expensive Zip Codes, the Back Bay is a popular neighborhood with accessible transportation and community based assets. As Boston continues to grow and the demand for mixed income housing increases, we will explore two projects providing housing across the income spectrum. Beacon Communities’ 140 Clarendon is the redevelopment of the historic YWCA building. The redevelopment will create 210 units of affordable and supportive housing dedicated to formerly unhoused individuals. National Development’s 220 Huntington project converts the Midtown Hotel into a 10-story building with over 300 housing units, 43 of which are income restricted.
