The Massachusetts Beta Chapter

Having higher standards than the national board, this chapter holds the study of neuroscience in the highest regards. We have inducted a total of 132 members into the society since its establishment in 2013!

Our biweekly meetings consist of graduate student panels, post-graduation job panels, and planning for events such as National Drug Facts Week and Brain Awareness Week.

Our members also participate in conferences such as Women in STEM, NEURONs, Society for Neuroscience, and Experimental Biology while also volunteering their free time to teach middle and high school students about the nervous system through an interactive program called Interaxon.

Our members also have held competitive co-ops at pharmaceuticals such as Biogen and Pfizer or at academic institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Allen Institute for Brain Science, and Massachusetts General Hospital.

In Fall 2014, we also had the honor of receiving a Chapter Activity Award from the National Board of Nu Rho Psi at the national meeting at SFN in Washington, D.C. The funds were used to purchase drug simulation goggles to be used during our event for NDFW to shatter common myths about drug and substance abuse.
