Dr. Jade Zee

Jade Zee is an accomplished scientist, associate director and course manager of the Behavioral Neuroscience Program, and serves as Nu Rho Psi’s faculty advisor.

She received her PhD at the University of Oregon and was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University. She has contributed much to the field of Behavioral Endocrinology. Her main research interests focus on the function and mechanisms of steroid hormones in the nervous system and behavior. Specifically, she has studied steroid mediated programmed cell-death in the neuromuscular system of moths during their metamorphosis. She has also studied the seasonal and sex-specific acoustic communication of teleost fishes.

Dr. Zee is also a prominent Northeastern professor who has taught Neurobiology, Biological Psychology, Animal Behavior, and Behavioral Endocrinology. In fact, she was named “Faculty Favorite” by the 2013 graduating class.
