Political outcomes today raise questions about how the interests of the majority are carried out by elected officials. Michael Neblo, Kevin Esterling David Lazer have conducted a series of practical experiments that reveal hopeful possibilities about the connection between citizens and political figures. With population size, among other dimensions of public opinion, posing challenges to the reasonable access between constituents and elected officials, new technologies are aimed at creating real conversations between the two groups. More specifically, these technologies are meant to simulate town-hall style deliberations using online platforms.
