“Introduction to GitHub” Workshop

October 15, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

If you are interested in best practices for organizing file structures on your computer and collaborating while coding, this workshop is for you! This introductory, two-hour workshop is designed for beginners who are interested in learning about GitHub; all you need is a computer.

GitHub is a version control repository, which means it is built to store your information and keep track of changes. It is often used to upload, save, and disseminate code; multiple contributors can work on a repository at once, which allows for collaboration. This workshop will go over best practices for file structures as well as define and demonstrate the uses of Git, GitHub, version control, and repositories. This workshop will be led by Cara Marta Messina, the Digital Teaching Integration Initiative Assistant Director.

Please bring a laptop, if you are able.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Please RSVP here:
