Douglass Day 2020

February 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Please join us on Wednesday, February 12th at 12–1:30pm for Douglass Day, a transcribe-a-thon celebrating the life and birthday of Frederick Douglass. This event is co-hosted by the NULab and Digital Scholarship Group, with the Women Writers Project.

Participants should bring their own laptops, if possible, but no previous experience is required. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP here: https://northeastern.libcal.com/event/6050689

This event connects with the national Douglass Day, an annual celebration organized, in part, by The Colored Conventions Project, with local events happening across the country on February 14. More information about this year’s national Douglass Day can be found here: http://coloredconventions.org/hbd. Douglass Day 2020 is presented by the Colored Conventions Project, the Anna Julia Cooper Digital Project, the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University, the Princeton University Center for Digital Humanities, and the Penn State University Libraries, Penn State’s Center for Humanities and Information, and the Penn State College of the Liberal Arts.
