Title: Supporting PAP Adherence with a Mobile Couple-Oriented Self-Management Tool

Summary: The overall goal of this project is to develop a prototype of a couple-orientated self-management tool
delivered by a mobile app to improve adherence to positive airway pressure (PAP) treatment. This work will
generate pilot data to compete for external funding (e.g., R01 application responding to PA-17-010). The specific aims are:

Aim 1: To develop and iteratively refine a prototype of a couple-orientated self-management tool
delivered by a mobile app to support the use of PAP therapy. Qualitative methods within a standardized
iterative participatory approach by working with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients and their partners will
support the development and refinement process.

Aim 2: To assess the initial usability of this tool in OSA patients and their partners. It is planned
to recruit 5-10 couples for the usability test, which will guide the further refinement of this tool.
