Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility

Northeastern University maintains four NMR spectrometers for teaching and sponsored research. We also offer professional NMR services for non-Northeastern users from the local area.

500 MHz Varian Inova located in 117 Mugar is dedicated for research and also has LC-NMR and microNMR capabilities
400 MHz Varian Mercury located in 107 Hurtig Hall serves routine chemistry research and teaching
700 MHz Bruker Avance II located in 038 Hurtig Hall is used for protein structural studies
400 MHz Bruker Avance II located in 038 Hurtig Hall for solid-state NMR

The two Bruker NMR systems in 038 Hurtig Hall are independently operated by the Center for Drug Discovery.

All students and staff requesting access to the NMRs will need to demonstrate a minimal level of basic safety and operational ability. New users should start with the User Training page.

The FACES on-line schedule for the NMR400 and NMR500 is at: faces.ccrc.uga.edu (Our group name is “NEU”)

Common questions (like “How do I copy NMR data to my laptop?”) are addressed in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page.

Fee-for-Service NMR analysis is available for both NU research projects and local companies. Contact Jason Guo & Brian D’Amico for more information.
