Spring 2017 in Review

FIC has had a very busy spring semester.

We networked with representatives from Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Scotiabank, and UBS and learned about co-op opportunities offered by their companies.

We gained insight to the world of alternative investments and activist investors from Northeastern professor Nicole Boyson. We learned about investing strategies and finance theory from Professor Donald Margotta.

We learned how to create a complete model of the three main financial statements in a day-long bootcamp with Wall Street Prep, which will prepare us for classes, co-ops, and other internships.

We were quizzed about the differences between the GMAT and GRE and strategies for taking these exams with our friends at the Princeton Review. (Did you know that your scores for both exams are good for five years?)

We heard about what life is like after co-op from a group of recent Northeastern alumni who are all successfully starting their careers in finance at Fidelity, TJX, Bowen Advisors, and Cambridge Associates.

Time has certainly flown by this spring, and we hope that the next year brings even more events and programming. We wish our incoming leadership team the best of luck.

Thank you to all of our members who attended our meetings, asked thoughtful questions, provided helpful feedback, and ate all the free pizza. We hope to see you again in September!
