Crystal Haynes

At the center of every good story is a person with the courage to share it, and it has been Crystal Haynes’ passion to tell that story well. Starting from humble beginnings in her hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts as a teen reporter for The Republican newspaper, Crystal has been a journalist for more than 20 years and has worked for over a decade in television.

Terrence Johnson

The only place to call home is Mississippi. Terrence Johnson graduated from my home state’s flagship institution, The University of Mississippi with a degree in Journalism and a minor in African American Studies. At the university, Johnson engaged with the students, faculty, and community in a variety of leadership positions as well as media and professional positions through the Student Media Center. Like many of his fellow classmates, Johnson left the classroom prepared to begin a career as a fresh, full-time journalist focusing on issues that revolved around marginalized communities. However, he chose to continue his education before beginning his professional career. In his free time, Johnson enjoys good vibes, good food, good music, and good wine.

Tyler Stitt

Tyler moved to Montana in search of better snow and higher education at Montana State University. He graduated with Poli Sci and Philosophy degrees and ventured north to Vancouver where he led a sales and marketing team in the software industry. He crossed the continent once more to work as a field organizer in the 2018 midterm elections. After a hard fought victory, he hopped the Pacific pond and worked in Japan as a ski instructor. Big fan of the podcasts Revision History, The Daily, and Reply All.

Madeline Olsen

Born in North Carolina but raised mostly in Florida, I’ve called many places home over the years! During my time as an undergrad at Northeastern, I was able to take advantage of many amazing opportunities like the coop program as well as studying abroad in Florence, Italy. After graduating in 2015 with a BA in Communication Studies, I spent the next 3 years mainly working at Walt Disney World Resort as well as participating in a one-month long language immersion program in Malaga, Spain. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family (back in the Sunshine State), baking, traveling, and reading.

Bridget Conway

Bridget has been committed to mission-driven work her whole life, and has worn many hats in the nonprofit sector over the years. Currently working in advancement communications at a Boston-based organization, Bridget is excited to take what she learns in the classroom to work every day, and, ultimately better drive the mission of her employer. In the future, she hopes to apply what she learns about the dynamic between legal systems and social movements to empower grassroots voices all over the world to advance the change they wish to see in their communities.

Savannah Weinstock

I currently work in domestic violence advocacy as well as the Food Coordinator for the Cambridge Women’s Center. I have a background in bar management, whisk(e)y reviewing, and Environmental Studies. Through Media Advocacy I aim to investigate the social, resource, and benefit inequities in American society and to write about them with empathy. My diverse background and breadth of experience has lent me a unique lens to do just that.

Collyn Stephens

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and graduated from Florida State University in 2012. After working for state government for a year I decided to travel to work with children, to learn another language and to find out what I wanted out of life. My work with children has fueled my concern of our education system in the U.S., minority rights in the legal system and how laws affect these populations
