Research Facilities:
Our labs are located in the Egan Research Building. This facility has the unique environment for fostering multidisciplinary stimulating research environment. Labs at room # 317, 353 and 364 comprises of more than 3500 square feet space. 317 Egan constitutes our materials characterization laboratory with seven independent electrochemical test units each comprising of digital potentiostat / galvanostat with impedance analyzer.Besides this we have multi-channel power supplies (two four channel and one single channel, Arbin and HP systems). Also located in this lab are a Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive Analyzer (Hitachi, Model S-4800), X-Ray Powder Diffractometer (Rigaku), FT-IR (Matheson), BET surface area analyzer (Quantachrome) and a Raman Microscope (Renishaw).

In addition, our facilities include controlled humidification systems (Arbin and in-house) in conjunction with membrane conductivity and permeability measurement set up (using micro-electrodes); This lab also has hoods for polymer synthesis and treatment. 364 Egan is our fuel cell lab with four PEM fuel cell test stations with single/half cell test fixtures, laboratory press 353 Egan is our materials preparation laboratory, It also houses our low field ESR set-up. We also have a Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometer (Plama Quad).
One of our prime efforts is to understand charge transfer at electrochemical interfaces in situ. For this we are at the forefront of conducting synchrotron based x-ray absorption and diffraction experiments. Our group has independent beam time at the National Synchrotron Light Source in Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY. |
