Throughout the year, we hold fundraisers through local businesses, such as:
- Five Guys
- Krispy Kreme
- Playa Bowls
This past year, we also sold succulents and partnered with Love You More to sell jewelry. All of the money raised goes towards club activities and events!
Husky Starters Crowdfunding campaign:
The dedicated members of Northeastern University’s Innovator’s for Global Health have formed a partnership with St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Our collaboration is built on IGH’s goal of providing students with the life-changing educational experience of repairing vital medical equipment in the world’s most resource-poor communities. Every year, we try to send a group of 5 students to Addis Ababa to collaborate with local physicians and biomedical technicians to survey the needs of St. Paul’s Hospital, repair medical equipment, and exchange knowledge.
The money from our Husky Starter will cover hotels, transportation, flights, tools, and supplies necessary for our trips.
This experience will provide students with the unique opportunity to learn about a new culture, apply engineering skills in a global health context, increase Northeastern’s international presence, and improve access to healthcare in Addis Ababa. By repairing medical equipment alongside Ethiopian health professionals and technicians, students will gain interpersonal skills and expand their intellectual and cultural diversity.
Stay tuned for when our next Husky Starter goes live (usually 6 weeks before our trip)!
