IEEE RAS is pleased to host MIT Mechatronics Professor Kamal Youcef-Toumi!

Professor Kamal Youcef-Toumi is Director of MIT’s Mechatronics Research Laboratory and of the Ibn Khaldun Fellowship and Co-Director of the Center for Complex Engineering Systems. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from the Institute and an undergraduate degree in the same field from the University of Cinncinnati.

He teaches courses in dynamic systems, modeling, simulation and controls, robotics, mechatronics and precision machine design, and has supervised a vast range of graduate, post graduate, doctoral and postdoctoral activities. His research focuses on design and control theory and its applications to dynamic systems.

Professor Youcef-Toumi is the author of over 80 publications. He is an invited lecturer at over 160 university and corporate seminars worldwide and has edited several symposia proceedings. He has consulted for EDO Corporation, Varian Radiation Division, Axiam Corporation, AT&T Bell Laboratories, The Gillette Company, Daewoo Corporation and TEKES, the Technology Development Center of Finland and other companies.
