Photo of Richard EakinI am basically a systematist. My research interests include the morphology, systematics and distribution of artedidraconids. Most of my work has been with the artedidraconid genus Pogonophryne. During the cruise I plan to assist Joe Eastman in some of his work (buoyancy, etc.). Additionally, I have a strong interest in seabirds and will spend what time I can documenting at-sea abundance and distribution. I don't know if there will be anyone else aboard who is interested in doing this, but I may be able to maximize cruise time by doing this ancillary work, as I did in 1975 on a similar cruise to South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
