Family Gym Goals & Mission

Family Gyms aims to prevent obesity among children ages 3-8 living in vulnerable Boston neighborhoods by engaging families in the places children learn (preschool), live, and play (community).

Family Gym offers moderate-to-vigorous physical activities and educational activities focused on healthy eating and the promotion of healthy living by empowering and educating Boston area youth and families to get active and live healthier lives.

Family Gym engages with families by promoting the importance of being physically active through demonstrating activities, leading games and activities during free play and structured group activities each week at our locations across the City of Boston.

Family Gym promotes health and wellness by sharing different nutrition and wellness themes each week. These topics are learned connected through physical activities, developmentally appropriate health discussions, and free resources such as healthy eating recipes, journal articles, and info graphics to help families learn that making healthier decisions are easier than they think!
