The Northeastern University Game Development Club provides students with a myriad of opportunities to explore their passion for game design. Chapter members will be able to attend lectures and events that will offer practical knowledge of the field. We serve the Northeastern community by offering students across all majors, including Computer Science, Music, Creative Industries, and Art + Design a place to learn about game design and the gaming industry.
Regular Meetings: Tuesdays at West Village G 102, 7pm – 8pm
Work Sessions: Saturdays at Ryder Game Design Lab, 12pm – 3pm
Join like-minded students in designing games of all kinds… No prior experience needed! Members have created card games, roleplaying games, and video games on many platforms. Display your game at the end of Spring semester at Northeastern’s annual Games Showcase!
Want to work with talented artists and animators from MassArt? Want incredible sound effects and music from Berklee Students? Well, they want to work with you as well! Meet the rest of the Boston student game design scene and make great games with them! Our meetings are open to interested game designers from all over Boston.
Past speakers include professionals from both indie and triple-A studios, and we’re lining up a great roster to help introduce the industry to you again this year!
Come on and slam! Make a game in a day or a weekend using a secret theme given at the event! Fast, frantic and fun, game jams are a great way to stretch your skills in design, art and more in an environment of like minded enthusiasts. Northeastern University is also an official host site of the Global Game Jam each year, bringing game developers from all around the Boston area to make a game in one weekend alongside teams from around the world.
