Submission Information

Why should you submit?

Having a publication can be very impressive to future employers or graduate schools. This example of your published writing will serve as excellent evidence of your technical writing capabilities. You will also be able to get a first-hand experience in the process behind paper submission and revision common to journal publications.

Embark offers hands-on help for those hoping to submit. We hold writing workshops to help you hone in your research and focus it toward a paper, or to help you turn a poster into a paper publication. The editors of Embark are available for any questions and one-on-one assistance throughout your paper-writing process. We make it easy for you to succeed!

Interested in submitting to Embark? See if your work qualifies!

We publish novel research articles of undergraduate students at Northeastern University conducting work on science or engineering-based projects. While your work does not have to be complete, accepted papers must have the traditional format of a research paper, meaning that results must be presented:

  • Abstract
  • Introduction & Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion & Future Work

Some examples of qualifying research we’ve accepted in the past has come from volunteer research, capstone projects, NU research programs, and co-op research with NU faculty. Not sure yours qualifies? Fill out the interest form below and we’d be happy to get you the answers you need.

Please download our Author’s Kit using this link. It will give you all the information you need on formatting, submission, and who to contact. We are excited to see your submission!
