Welcome To The Center For Public Interest Advocacy And Collaboration
We are a hub for social justice law at Northeastern University School of Law. CPIAC connects the diverse social justice endeavors at the School of Law, with a focus on creating interdisciplinary partnerships and facilitating new approaches to lawyering in the public interest.
We host guest speakers to deliver community lectures, participate in interactive panels, teach mini-classes and offer one-on-one advising sessions to students. We also screen human rights films, hold pro bono opportunity fairs, and have regular coffee hour discussions to bring students and practitioners together to engage with the practice of social justice law.
CPIAC is an incubator for new social justice legal projects at NUSL. Our current projects include creating an interdisciplinary data map of the Cradle-to-Prison Pipeline in Massachusetts, a pilot Movement Lawyering project to use zoning laws to counter gentrification, and a Court Watch project.
We’re always looking for volunteers, so find out more about how you can get involved!
