Alina joined the Bioengineering Department at Northeastern University in Fall 2017. Originally from Russia, she completed her BA in pre-med Biology from the Holy Family University, Philadelphia, PA. While pursuing a career in medicine, Alina realized the limitations of currently available treatments and therapies. The interdisciplinary field of Bioengineering caught her attention, as it provides an interesting and effective approach to the problems. She altered her career to specialize in the field of cell and tissue engineering. Alina chose Northeastern University’s Bioengineering program to help her with her goals and interests of advancing the knowledge and treatments that can be further used to help people. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the city of Boston, cooking and meeting new people along her journey at Northeastern.
