The Women’s Club Soccer team’s dedication to excellence has landed us in the top six teams of the region for the past eight years. With every new season, more and more talent finds its way onto the roster and our overall record continues to improve. Last season, we finished at the top of the New England East Division with a record of 7-1-1 and a power ranking total of 59 points. This first place finish landed us a spot in the NIRSA Regional Tournament in New Castle, Delaware where we beat Fordham and SUNY Oneonta and tied UMass in the group stage. We advanced out of pool play and into the quarterfinal round where we unfortunately lost to Penn State and were forced to start our journey home a little earlier than expected. Our goal for the upcoming 2016 season is to make Northeastern Women’s Club Soccer history and become regional champions.
We have been fortunate enough to attend the National Collegiate Club Soccer Championships in Phoenix, AZ and Memphis, TN during five of the past six years. At this tournament, we are able to really challenge ourselves as a team, competing against top-tier clubs from across the country. In past years, we have participated in the tournament’s Open Division; this season, we strive to impress at Regionals and get an invitation to compete in the Championship Division for the first time.
