January 17, 2015 - Huskies are heading to Tampa

After unfortunate weather last fall, and more likely this spring, the Huskies were granted approval from the school to return to Tampa, Florida for the NCBA Spring Training Showcase. The schedule will be released in the next month or so, where the Huskies will be competing against teams from all across the country.

October 30, 2014 - BU Series Preview

The Huskies look to close the fall 2014 season out this weekend against another cross-town rival, Boston University. The three games will be played starting at 11AM at Holten Richmond Middle School in Danvers, MA, a double header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. Get ready for some November baseball!

October 27, 2014 - Sweep of Syracuse

The Huskies swept the Syracuse Orange in the two 9 innings games played last weekend scoring double digits runs in both, 14-9 and 10-2. The first game quickly went in Northeastern's favor with six first inning runs. Ryan Hess hit the first home run of the year that helped seal the win for the team. The second game the Huskies rallied mostly in the extremes, scoring 4 first inning runs and 6 in the 8th. Will Clark pitched a gem going six strong innings striking out 5 and only allowing 2 runs.

October 5, 2014 - Opening Day of the Fall Season

The Huskies took to the field October 5th for the first time this fall playing the Boston College Eagles. Ultimately the game would be cut short after the fifth inning because of unrelenting sprinklers.

For the innings played the team showed no signs of rust. Jason Hendy broke the ice with a first inning lead-off double and a run. He would add to that in the next inning with an RBI sac fly. It was a big fourth inning for the Huskies scoring 5 runs on 4 hits with doubles by Andrew Preite and Dennis Beynor. On the other side of the ball, Phil Carignan struck out 8 and surrenders only 1 run giving the Huskies the victory 7-1.

April 22, 2014 - Syracuse Recap

The Huskies traveled to Syracuse NY and returned with 2 wins and 1 loss. The Huskies' bats were on fire in games 1 and 3, but failed to plate a run in game 2. Overall, a successful trip to upstate NY, with a huge conference series vs. UConn this weekend at Parsons Field. Come by and support the team!

April 8, 2014 - UMass Series Recap

After playing to a 0-0 tie through seven innings in game one, largely due to a 3 hit shutout by Senior Tom Plumitallo, the big hit came in the bottom of the eighth by Jason Hendy in the form of a double over the right fielder's head. Kyle Higgins was able to score from first, and the Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Game two was a different story. The Huskies put up 8 runs in the bottom of the first, and never looked back. Phil Carignan tossed 5 solid innings and the Huskies found themselves up 2-0 in the series.

Game three was all minutemen. After a bunch of bloop singles, they found themselves up 5-0, and the Huskies could not come back, dropping the third game 8-1. The Huskies will be traveling to Syracuse next weekend for a Non-Conference series with the Orange.

March 17, 2014 - Series @ Sacred Heart

The Huskies will be traveling to Veterans Memorial Park in Bridgeport CT to take on Sacred Heart this weekend. Game 1 of the Doubleheader starts at 10:00am on Saturday.

March 11, 2014 - Opening Day Update

The series scheduled for March 15th-16th @ Sacred Heart has been postponed and tentativley rescheduled for the following weekend, March 22nd-23rd. Stayed tuned for further updates.

October 26, 2013 - Fall Season Recap

After some inclement weather, the Huskies were still able to get 7 games in this fall season. After sweeping the double header the first weekend against Boston College, it took the Huskies 12 innings to knock off cross town rival Boston University 7-6. The remaining two games were cancelled due to unplayable field conditions caused by unpredicatable Boston weather.

Those 3 games were all in preperation for a 4 game series against Northeastern's long time rival, Hofstra University. The Huskies took both games from the Pride last year at the Regional Playoffs in Warwick, RI, so Hofstra was looking for some revenge. The Huskies' bats exploded in the series, batting a combined .358 and scoring 41 runs. This lead to a 4 game sweep for the Huskies, which results in a 7-0 record for the fall. The next scheduled series for the Huskies isn't until March 15, when they will be traveling to Sacred Heart for a 3 game conference series.

October 1, 2013 - Opening Weekend

The Huskies opened the fall season this past weekend by playing a double header at Boston College. The huskies took both games by scores of 11-2 and 14-2. Their next games are this coming weekend when they travel to Boston University for a 3 game series. Game 1 is on Saturday October 5th at 10:00am, with a doubleheader to follow on Sunday at noon.

July 31, 2013 - Huskies Join NCBA Division 1

After being part of the NCBA Division II for the past 4 seasons, the team was invited to make the jump to Division 1. This division is the highest competition available for club, and includes many (if not all) of the major colleges and universities across the country. The Huskies will be in the "North Atlantic" Region, playing in the "North" conference. The other 4 teams in this Conference are: Sacred Heart, SUNY-Albany, UConn and UMass.

May 15, 2013 - Huskies Leave for Paducah

After a week and a half of practices, the Huskies will be departing tonight for the DII World Series in Paducah KY. The Huskies' first game will be at 1:10pm (CST) on Friday, May 17, where they will be playing Stephen F. Austin University out of Distrct VII.

May 6, 2013 - Huskies are heading to Paducah

Wow, what a weekend. After loosing an error plagued game 1 to St. Joseph's, the Huskies needed to win 4 in a row.

On Saturday, the Huskies came from behind to beat division rival Sacred Heart 6-5, after a game tying 2 rbi double by Jason Hendy, and a game winning single by Andrew Preite.

Later on Saturday, the Huskies played in another elimination game vs. St. Joseph's. The Huskies had some more late game heroics, with Jason Hendy coming up huge again with a game winning single in the seventh.

This all lead up to a re-match against Hofstra Unviersity from last year's regionals. The Huskies came out hot by scoring 7 runs in the first 3 innings, but soon cooled off. Strong pitching kept the lead for the Huskies, and they took the first game 7-5.

The final game of the weekend started out by the Huskies falling behind, but then coming back to take the lead in the mid innings. Ryan Hess then came in and kept the Pride's bats quiet for the rest of the game, securing the Disctrict II Title for the Huskies.

April 29, 2013 - District II Tournament Seedings

The Huskies will be the 2nd seed in the tournament this coming weekend in Warwick, RI. They will be facing off against the District II South Champion in St. Joseph's University out of Philadelphia, PA. First pitch will be at 7:00pm at Mickey Stevens Ballfield.

April 22, 2013 - Huskies Clinch District II North

After dropping game 1 to Sacred Heart, the Huskies' bats woke up for game 2, behind another great pitching performance by Phil Carignan. Game 3 was a nail-biter, but the Huskies' pitching staff (Jared Scholand, Jason Hendy, and Ryan Hess) held Sacred Heart to 4 hits and 1 run over 7 innings. This is the 4th straight conference title for the Huskies, who are looking to earn their first bid to the World Series since 2010.

April 15, 2013 - Huskies Sweep SUNY - New Paltz Recap

After a slow start to game one, the huskies were able to come back and take game 1, 7-6. The Huskies then cruised through the next 2 games and were able to sweep the series. Next week they will be playing Sacred Heart for the District II North title.

April 9, 2013 - Montclair Recap

After a tough game 1 loss, the Huskies' bats came alive in games 2 and 3 to take the doubleheader, and the series from Montclair state. In game three, Phil Carignan tossed a 3 hit shutout to secure the series for the huskies. This coming weekend the huskies will be playing an away series in Boston vs. SUNY - New Paltz.

March 9, 2013 - Spring Training Recap

The Huskies will head back to Boston today after having a sucessful week down in Florida. The Huskies were able to get some much needed on field practice, as well as playing 4 non-conference games. They were able to win all 4 games, which will definitely be a confidence boost heading into the spring season. The Huskies will be playing Sacred Heart in 2 weeks, at a field TBD in Boston.

March 2, 2013 - Huskies in Tampa

The Huskies arrived in Tampa today for the annual Spring Training Showcase in Plant City, FL. The Huskies are playing 4 games this week, as well as an exhibition game to start things on Monday. This is the 4th trip for the Huskies, who look to prepare for the 2013 season and ultimately reach the World Series.

October 22, 2012 - Huskies Sweep Rams

The Huskies take all three games from Fordham this weekend after playing solid baseball. Great starting pitching and patient hitting were the keys to victory.

This marks the end of the fall season for the Huskies, who finish 6-3 overall, 3-0 in conferennce play. Winter workouts will start in December, and the Huskies will be making the trek to Florida in March for Spring Training in Plant City.

October 15, 2012 - Rained out again

The doubleheader scheduled for Sunday against Boston College was rained out. The huskies have now had 4 rainouts this fall, with 3 games left to go. This weekend the Huskies are hosting a 3 game conference series against Fordham University at Clifford Park in Boston. The doubleheader starts on Saturday at 11:00am, and the final game will be at 11:00am on Sunday.

October 8, 2012 - Minutemen take 3 from Huskies

The Huskies traveled to UMass this past weekend to take on the minutemen in a three game series. The first two games were decided by one run, and by some not so perfect defense. The Huskies' bats didn't come around in game three, and they ended up losing 7-3. This was a tough weekend for the Huskies, but they look to rebound next weekend when they travel to Boston College to take on the Eagles in a doubleheader starting at noon.

September 27, 2012 - Huskies top Bulldogs

The Huskies defeated Bunker Hill Community College Wednesday night by a score of 8-7. After shaking off some early errors, the huskies were able to hold off the bulldogs when they were threatening with runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs in the seventh. Pat Lotane picks up the win for the Huskies, and three players (Beynor, Concessi, Higgins) had 2 rbi's each for the Huskies.

The Huskies travel to the Bulldogs on Sunday to play a doubleheader starting at noon.

September 25, 2012 - Weekend Recap from UConn

The Huskies traveled to UConn to take on the other Huskies in a non-conference double-header this past Saturday. Northeastern won both games 13-6 and 3-2. The second game featured a 7th inning comeback for the win. Sean Barrett led the way with 3 hits and 2 runs in the two games while Will Clark and Phil Carignan got the wins on the mound. Next, the Huskies will host Bunker Hill CC on Wednesday (9/26) at Jim Rice Field in Boston.

September 21, 2012 - Huskies Travel to UConn

Tomorrow, the Huskies will be traveling with an expanded roster to the University of Connecticut to play a doubleheader at Rockville High School, in Vernon CT. The last time these two teams met was in the Fall of 2009, when Northeastern edged out a 3-2 victory when they were a member of the New England Club Baseball Association. The Huskies look to strengthen their team this fall, after a disappointing end to their 2011-2012 campaign.

May 6, 2012 - District II Regional Tournament Results

The Huskies entered the division championship game at 2-0, only needing one win to clinch a spot in the 2012 World Series. Unfortunately, the Huskies fell in game one 7-5, and then were limited to only 4 hits and one run by Brian Adler and the Pride in game two, losing 4-1. The Huskies season ends earlier than they hoped, but they will be ready to make another run next season.

May 3, 2012 - District II Regional Tournament

Tomorrow, the Huskies will be traveling to Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York for a 4 team double elimination tournament, which will determine who will represent District II at the 2012 Division II World Series in Columbus Georgia.

Northeastern will be playing the University of Pennsylvania in their first game tomorrow, which starts at 7:00pm. The rest of the bracket can be viewed below.

April 22, 2012 - Huskies Clinch District II North

The Huskies clinched the division this weekend, and more importantly a spot in the District II Regional Playoffs which will be held May 4-6 in East Meadow NY.

Spencer Toth and Dave Clarke led the way for the Huskies this weekend going a combined 13 for 19, with 2 2B's, 3 3B's, 2 HR's, 9 rbi's, 10 runs and 6 BB's. The Huskies will wait for the final playoff seedings to be determined next weekend (4/28 - 4/29).

April 10, 2012 - Monroe forfeits series vs. Huskies

Monroe College forfeits their remaining games of the 2011-2012 season. The Huskies will have to wait until the weekend of 4/21 and 4/22 to see which teams will be representing District II North in the Regional Playoffs in East Meadow NY, May 4 - May 6. Seeding however won't be determined until the weekend of April 28.

April 2, 2012 - Northeastern sweeps New Paltz

The Huskies' bats picked it up this series, scoring 34 runs in three games. In game three, Jared Scholand and Jared Lowe combined to throw a no-hitter in the Huskies' 13-0 rout of New Paltz.

Northeastern has the week off, and will be back in action in two weeks when they take on Monroe College at East Boston Memorial Park.

March 26, 2012 - Northeastern Takes 2 of 3 from Fordham

Northeastern took game 1, 2-1 after a dominant pitching performance by Freshman Chris Defarlo.

Northeastern also took game 2, 7-5 after executing the squeeze with Pat Barrett and Jared Lowe in the top of the 8th.

In game three, the Huskies' bats didn't come alive, falling to Fordham 5-1.

The Huskies will take on SUNY - New Paltz at home this weekend (3/31 & 4/1) at East Boston Memorial Park.

October 17, 2011 - Northeastern Takes 2 of 3 to Begin the Season

After a sloppy performance in the first game, the Huskies exploded for 29 runs in the next two games, taking two out of three from Sacred Heart over the weekend in Bridgeport, CT. Behind solid pitching performances by Eddie Samp and Chris Defarlo, along with hits by twelve different Husky batters, Northeastern was able to bounce back after being blown out in the first game 12-2.

This weekend concluded the Huskies fall season, with their next game coming next spring at Fordham University during the weekend of March 25.

October 11, 2011 - Huskies Set to Open their Season This Weekend

The Northeastern University Club Baseball team will look to avenge a disappointing performance in last year's postseason as they open this NCBA season at Sacred Heart University during this coming weekend.

May 7, 2011 - Huskies Fall in Consecutive Games, are Eliminated from the Playoffs

In a rough two games, the Northeastern Huskies fell to Hofstra University 4-3, and then to Fordam University in the losers bracket 15-10. With the two losses, the team is eliminated from the postseason and will not vie for a second consecutive National Championship at the World Series.

May 6, 2011 - Northeastern Advances to Round 2

Northeastern won their first round game of the District playoffs against Rider University this afternoon, winning 5-3. They will play Hofstra University tomorrow at 12:30, with the winner going on to play in the District championship game on Sunday.

April 30, 2011 - Offense Explodes Against New Paltz

After almost four weeks off due to rain, the Huskies bats came alive in a brief two game series at New Paltz. Northeastern scored 31 runs in two 5-inning games, mercy ruling the Hawks in both. With the wins, the Huskies clinch first place in their district, and ensures them a one seed in the District playoffs in two weeks.

April 3, 2011 - Fordham Can't Handle the Huskies

In a rematch of last season's district playoff, Northeastern once again edged out Fordham University in the three game series, winning two of the three during the weekend. After a rough first game which the Huskies dropped 8-1, the Northeastern bats exploded in the middle game, mercy ruling Fordham 13-3 after five innings. The rubbermatch proved to be a more closely paired game, as both teams stuggled offensively and managed only one run through five innings. In the end it was Dave Clark and Adam Morgan who came up big in the sixth inning, with Clark doubling to set up Morgan's go-ahead and eventual game-winning home run. The Huskies will play the State University of New York - New Paltz in two weeks, needing just one win to clinch a playoff spot.

March 28, 2011 - Northeastern Takes 2 of 3

Losing for the first time in nearly a year, the Huskies dropped the first game of their series against Sacred Heart University 6-3 on Saturday, but rallied back in the second game of the doubleheader and mercy ruling the Pioneers in five innings. The final game on Sunday was also uncharacteristic of the Huskies, as they only scored two runs in the game. However, it was enough to win, as Ryan Hess and Hayato Nishi once again threw a combined shutout.

The Huskies remain atop the NCBA DII Week 42 Poll, collecting five of eleven first place votes.

March 21, 2011 - Hayato Nishi Named NCBA Player of the Week

Hayato Nishi was dominant in a win over Monroe this weekend, throwing 6 innings of no-hit ball. Nishi surrendured just 3 walks and 0 runs while striking out 11.

March 20, 2011 - Northeastern Continues Dominance

In their first series of the fall, the Northeastern Huskies swept Monroe College in a three game series in New York. With an offense led by Max Sterenson's seven hits in three games and pitching that included a combined no-hitter by Hayato Nishi and Ryan Hess in the third game, the Huskies showed they are still the team to beat in the NCBA.

November 1, 2010 - Max Sterenson Named NCBA Player of the Week

In a game that was tied through five, Max Sterenson's sixth inning grand slam broke the game open for Northeastern. Max finished the day 2-3 with a double, a grand slam, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.

October 30, 2010 - Huskies Complete Sweep

Northeastern defended their National Championship with a complete sweep of Babson College in the opening series. The Huskies won the three games by a combined score of 52-7, solidifying their spot at the top of the NCBA. Northeastern will be back in action in the spring, playing their next game at Monroe College during the week of March 14 - 20, 2011.

October 23, 2010 - Northeastern Pounds Babson in First Two Games

The Huskies started the 2010 - 2011 NCBA season swinging, beating Babson College in their first two games of the series by a combined score of 35-2 in ten innings, as both games ended after five innings due to the mercy rule. The Huskies will play one more game at Babson this fall before taking a five month break and finishing the season next Spring.

June 15, 2010 - Northeastern, Jeremy Gordon featured in CollClubSports Marketing Newsletter

The June edition of the CollClubSports Marketing letter featured a recap of the two World Series Champions; Colorado State in Division I, and Northeastern University in Division II.

In addition, Jeremy Gordon was named a "Player to Watch" following his unstoppable World Series, going 8-11 with a triple and four RBI's. The article also features a short interview with the MVP.

In the final Division II poll, the Northeastern Huskies were unanimously voted the #1 team in the country.

June 8, 2010 - Club Baseball Team Featured in Huntington News

A few weeks after the they clinched a National Championship in Pennsylvania, the Club Baseball team was featured in an article in the Huntington News, Northeastern University's independently run student newspaper.

May 25, 2010 - Huskies Win National Championship

It took two comebacks, but the Northeastern University Club Baseball team has won the 2010 NCBA Division II World Series, securing a National Championship. The Huskies cruised through the first three rounds of the tournament, beating Western State College of Colorado 10-2, College of William and Mary 10-5, and then Rice University 6-3.

In the championship game against Penn State, the Huskies trailed by one in the last inning when Mike Bivas doubled to lead off, and later scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. Trailing by two in the bottom of the 8th inning, Bivas again came through, driving in the game winning run after Nate Hodor doubled in the two runs to tie the game. Jeremy Gordon was named the World Series MVP after going 8-11 with one double, one triple, and four RBI in the tournament. Northeastern was the only team in the two loss elimination tournament to not lose a game.

May 9, 2010 - Northeastern Huskies Win District II Championship

The Huskies swept Fordham University this weekend in a three game series, winning 3-2 and 10-6 to claim the District II Championship and a bid to the Division II World Series next week. This district championship gives the Huskies four straight seasons with a championship, having won the NECBA Championship each of the past three seasons.

The World Series starts on May 21st in Johnstown, PA, where the first round will see the 5th seeded Huskies play the #4 seed Western State College of Colorado. The tournament is double elimination and runs until the championship game on May 25th.

May 3, 2010 - Huskies Clinch District II South

Playing five games this weekend to make up rainouts earlier in the season, the Huskies won four of the five to clinch the District II South division, and move on to face Fordham University in the District II Championship next weekend, May 8th and 9th. The road trip started on Friday, with a makeup game at New York University in Brooklyn, which the Huskies won 7-6. The team then travelled down to Mercer Park near Trenton, NJ, and swept Rider University on Saturday and Sunday, clinching the District in the process.

The winner of this weekend's Championship Series will play in the NCBA DII World Series in Johnstown, PA, which kicks off May 21 and runs through the 25th.

April 26, 2010 - Mike Librett Named NCBA Player of the Week

Mike Librett's performance at the plate led Northeastern to two big conference wins over Sacred Heart this weekend. Mike finished the weekend 5-6 with a double, 2 RBI, 3 runs, a stolen base and 2 walks.

April 26, 2010 - Inclimate Weather Limits Huskies to Two Wins

Northeastern only played two games this weekend, beating Sacred Heart University in both games. The Huskies won the first game 11-2, withg a strong offensive performance that was led by NCBA Player of the Week Mike Librett. In the second game, Northeastern needed all seven innings for the victory, coming from one run behind in the last inning to win.

April 22, 2010 - Huskies Ranked 4th in the Nation

In the NCBA DII Week 43 poll, the Northeastern Huskies jump five sports to #4, behind Virginia Commonwealth University, Penn State University, and the University of Wyoming.

April 11, 2010 - Northeastern Sweeps Cabrini

The Huskies continued to play good baseball this weekend, taking all three games against Cabrini College by a combined score of 25-5. The Northeastern offense mercy-ruled the Cavaliers in the first game on Saturday, winning 10-0 in five innings, while the pitching staff, anchored by another shutout performance by Nick Young, allowed only two earned runs the entire weekend. The Huskies are back in action agains next weekend, with three games at home against New York University.

March 28, 2010 - Huskies take 2 of 3 from Hofstra University to Open the Season

The Huskies returned home from their three game series at Hofstra University this weekend, convincingly taking two out of three from the defending District Two South champions. The Huskies, who are currently ranked #9 in the NCBA National poll, held the Pride, who are ranked #4, to only four runs in the three games, none of them earned, and showed that they are ready to challenge for the Division championship.

March 8, 2010 - Huskies Return from Spring Training in Florida

The Huskies returned home on Sunday from a trip to Plant City, Florida, where they competed in their first ever Spring Training Showcase. The Huskies performed well during the week, playing four games, three of them exhibitions, and all of them against teams outside their conference. The week left the team excited and prepared for the upcoming spring season, which kicks off March 27th at Hofstra University.
