Center News
In early Fall, the Center for Health Policy and Healthcare Research received a contract from Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA). The center will be collaborating with BCBSA 
on the development of new measures and related analytics for identifying opportunities to reduce the incidence of chronic health conditions in the U.S. population. 
 
The Center also recently received a grant from the National Institute for Health Care Management. The grant is for conducting a study of the patterns and determinants of inappropriate diagnostic imaging in the US. 
 

Faculty Announcements
Center director, Gary Young, has been selected as an advisor to the Care Quality Commission, the agency responsible for overseeing quality of care for
England’s National Health Service.
Timothy Hoff, leads two publications titled, “Medical Home Implementation Gaps for Seniors: Perceptions and Experiences of Primary Care Medical Practices” featured in the Journal of Applied Gerontology and “How Do we Talk About Physician-Patient Relationship? What the Non-Empirical Literature Tells Us” featured in the Medical Care Research Review.
David Zgarrick releases fourth edition of pharmacy management text titled,
Pharmacy Management: Essentials for All Practice Settings. The text combines “evidence-based management theories with practical solutions for the issues pharmacists face everyday.”
Wendy Parmet recently testified before the Committee on Pain Management and Regulatory Strategies to Address Prescription Opioid Abuse at the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. 
Kristin Madison gave a presentation titled “Consent in the Context of Health Information Exchange” for the webinar co-sponsored by the American Health Lawyers Association and the Public Health Law Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention titled, Achieving Optimal Data Sharing to Improve Health Outcomes
