Background:

Miriam is an industrial designer, who earned her Bachelors of FIne Arts Degree in Industrial Design from The Rhode Island School of Design. Her undergraduate work focused on universal design and assistive technology. Before entering the personal health informatics program she worked at The MIT Media Lab Affective Computing Group helping to design data visualization tools for researchers studying autism. She also worked at the Wyss Institute for Bioinspired Research at Harvard University helping researchers include the needs and perspectives of end users of assistive technology and medical devices in the design process.
