Research Interests:

 • Cognitive models of speech production
 • The interaction between prosody and speech intelligibility
 • Reading fluency and comprehension in beginning readers

Background:

Heather’s primary research interests include cognitive models of speech production and the interaction between prosody and segments in speech perception and production. While working at the CadLab, Heather worked on iPrompt-U, ReadN’Karaoke and the tongue twister projects. She was a 2013 recipient of the Sir Keith Murdoch Research fellowship from the American Australian Association, assisted on submitting several federal grants, published journal articles, and presented at two different conferences.

She is now a research fellow at the Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language, at the University of Western Sydney in Australia (Click Here).
