====== SERVER DESCRIPTION aries.ascc.neu.edu========== Rack Server: DELL PowerEdge R815 Processors: 4 x AMD Opteron 6174, 2.2GHz, 12 Cores, Cache (6M L2/12M L3) share memory bandwith 1333 Mhz We have a total of 48 cores in one mother board. Memory: 256GB Memory (32x8GB), 1333 MHz (share memory bandwith) We will have a total of 32 memory chips (8 G each) inside the rack server. The total share memory is therefore 256 GB. Operating System: Red Hat Linux which can support MATLAB. Primary Controller (for internal disks): PERC H700 Integrated RAID Controller, (1GB cache) Hard Drives (internal disks): 6X146GB 15K RPM Hotplug Hard Drive. These disks contain the scratch directory with a capacity of about 860 GB needed during computations Additional Controller (for external disks): PERC H800 RAID Adapter (1GB cache) External Storage Unit: PowerVault MD1200 to be inserted in the rack. Hard Drives (external disks): 6 X 1TB 7.2 K RPM These disks contain home directories and extra scratch. We have added a GPU unit in the rack: NVIDIA Tesla S1070 (This unit can be controlled and programmed with MATLAB.
