Shardool Jain

Shardool is a doctoral candidate in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeastern University. The title of his thesis project is “Macrophage-Targeted Alginate-Based Non-Viral Gene Delivery System for Local and Systemic Anti-Inflammatory Gene Therapy for Treatment in Rheumatoid Arthritis”. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University and has worked for Roche Diagnostics in New Jersey and Cerulean Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in Cambdrige, MA. Sunita Yadav

Sunita is currently pursing doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeastern University. Her research is focused on intranasal delivery of peptides to brain. She received her MS degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2007 from Northeastern University. She worked at Boston Scientific Corporation on various medical devices, such as drug-eluting stents and controlled drug eluting polymer films. Since the last four years,  she has been working as a Scientist with Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research. Her research experience includes formulation and analytical assay development for siRNA therapeutics. Linkedin

Verbena Kosovrasti

Verbena completed her undergraduate studies majoring in Chemistry and her Masters degree in Food Technology at the State University of Tirana, Albania. She joined Alnylam Pharmaceuticals as an Associate Research Scientist in 2006 and is currently working as a principle research associate. She also participated in the MS program at Worcester State University, but eventually enrolled for her PhD degree at Northeastern University. Her project at Northeastern University involves development of nanoparticle-based delivery strategy for siRNA using modified and /or conjugated dextran blocks.

Ruchi Shah

Ruchi completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy from L.M.College of Pharmacy. She finished her M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Northeastern University. She worked as a Research Intern at the Formulation Department of Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics for a year. Ruchi is currently a Ph.D. candidate working with a Novartis Vaccines fellowship at Northeastern University. The title of her thesis is “Evaluation and Optimization of Novel Self-Emulsifying Adjuvant Formulations to Engender a Potent Immune Response with Model Antigens”. Linkedin


Husain Attarwala

He obtained his MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Northeastern University (2010) and a BS in Pharmacy from Rajiv Gandhi University, India (2007). He is also currently working as a Research Associate at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals where his research is focused on PK profiling of siRNA candidates under pre-clinical and clinical development. He has previously worked at Life Technologies, Fredrick, MD and Abbott Bioresearch Center, Worcester, MA. His doctoral thesis research project focuses on development of multicompartmental systems for oral siRNA mediated silencing of transglutaminase-2 for treatment of celiac disease. Linkedin
