Research Interests
I have a background in natural product chemistry with a focus on isolation and structural characterization of microbial secondary metabolites. In the Lewis lab, I have been working on discovery of natural products acting selectively against Gram-negative pathogens using a differential screening strategy. The species-selective acting antibiotics should have an interesting mode of action and hold the promise of combating antimicrobial resistance crisis.
